Ruben van Leer

Van Leer‘s films & interdisciplinary works are driven by the interest for movement, embodied experiences and future sciences. He studied film at the San Francisco Art Institute (USA, 2005), did a postgraduate at the Sandberg Institute (NL, 2007) and finished a master’s degree at the Dutch Film Academy (NL, 2013).

Van Leer shot an award winning dance-opera film 'Symmetry' (2016) inside the particle accelerator of CERN, the largest scientific lab for particle physics. He created a live VR installation 'Sacred Environment' and was performed in the Concertgebouw with large orchestra (Holland Festival, 2017). He directed several music videos and designed live stages for pop artists such as The Black Eyed Peas (2010), Yeasayer (2013) and Coldplay (2007). He recently created a buzz with the spectacle film 'Power Of Water' (2021) featuring Davina Michelle and Thekla Reuten, which was broadcasted worldwide during the Eurovision Song Contest.

Laura Hermanides

(1988) graduated in 2012 from the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam. She mainly works as a writer/director/editor and recently also as a composer on her own films. She creates both documentary and fiction and everything in between. In October 2022 she will screen her first feature film De Witte Flits, which will appear in cinemas in the autumn of 2023.

About the film:

A visit to the swimming pool brings back Imaani's dark memories of a sexual assault. In order to overcome the past and defeat her inner demons, Imaani will have to face her trauma. 

Nils Gerbens

Nils Gerbens is a comedy and post-production specialist. A Graphic Design graduate who found his passion in directing.

The whirlwind of high-profile jobs that came Nils’ way includes all the digital content for FIFA14, with the crème-de-la-crème of football: Gareth Bale, Chicharito, Stephan El Shaarawy and Robert Lewandowski. His work for ASUS was Ad of the Day in Adweek and brought home a Ciclope nomination. Most recently he’s worked with the likes of Malibu and HEMA.

Nils has the gift of injecting a portion of clever comedy and absurdity into the driest of themes. Add to this his genius post-production abilities, impeccable taste, a great eye for cinematography and a decent dose of charm, et voila; you have the magic we call Nils Gerbens.

About the film:

In a small guardhouse with a barrier, three border guards are sentenced to solitude together. Disciplined, they maintain their daily rituals, until they are caught off-guard by a lost drone carrying a postal package. When the guards manage to intercept the package, they encounter something that both astonishes them and shakes the daily balance of their existence. Once the trio threatens to fall apart due to the arrival of their new 'comrade', there seems only one way to restore the old order.

Tommie Geraedts

Born in 1988, Tommie Geraedts is a director working from Amsterdam. With a background in design and visual effects he weaves the fabrics of these disciplines together with live action to tell his stories. He is increasingly interested in human stories that border the metaphysical but always grounded in todays world.

He has been commissioned to direct films for the van Gogh museum, Stedelijk Museum, T-mobile, Dell and Videoland amongst many others that went on to get millions of views. 

About the film:

When the slightly naïve Ronnie gives up a tad too much personal information during verification questions on his computer, he receives a fully customised invitation from his OS in return. After accepting the offer his OS takes over his computer, forcing Ronnie to do everything in his power to keep his desires a secret for his approaching wife.
